If you’re interested in roller derby, don’t be shy! No experience is necessary; we’re a diverse group of people with different abilities and backgrounds. One of our favorite things is sharing the world of roller derby to new skaters, referees, NSOs, and volunteers.
Skate With Us
For skaters and skating officials (refs), we are currently running an open and rolling recruitment schedule. TSD offers a month-long training program known as the Rookie Experience Program, or REP. REP is designed to introduce the basic skills needed to start playing or officiating roller derby, provide instruction on roller derby rules and strategy, and help you get to know the Twin State Derby community. Each cycle of REP begins with a Rookie Info Night when we share various aspects of the sport, the TSD community, and information you need to get started as a rookie with our league. Upcoming dates (more details to come!):
September 23: 3-6 pm
October 28: 3-6 pm
Check out our Facebook page to RSVP for a Rookie Info Night and receive updates about the event. Rookie Info Nights are FREE and no roller derby experience or gear are needed! Wear athletic clothing and bring a mouth guard, water bottle, and positive attitude. All skaters must be 18+ to participate in Rookie Info Night. Rookie Info Night and subsequent REP practices run from 7:00-9:30 at Great View Roller Rink located in Enfield, NH. There is a $50 charge per rookie for participating in the Rookie Experience Program to cover practice space costs and gear maintenance.
For more information about our Rookie Info Nights and joining Twin State Derby, please email us at email@example.com and check out our Facebook page for updates. You can also find some FAQs here.
Volunteer With Us
If you’d like to get involved, but don’t want to get bruised, don’t worry! Anyone over 18+ can join our important team of officials and NSOs (non-skating officials), and we often need volunteers to lend a hand at bouts. We would LOVE to have you around, and it's a great way to get to know the game derby community! If you have any questions, or would like to find out more, don’t hesitate to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Twin State Derby welcomes skaters from other leagues who have passed the WFTDA Minimum Skills Requirements to join us for practice on Tuesday and Thursday nights. Excluding planned interleague engagements, we ask that visiting skaters contribute $10 per drop-in practice to help offset our cost for the practice space. Please contact email@example.com to let us know that you are interested in joining us, and to confirm practice date/time/location.
